For those curious about how biodegradability occurs, here’s a brief breakdown of the process: At the end of useful life of the product, the polymer begins to break off into molecular chains, through what is called an oxidation process. However, the oxidation phase is not necessary for the product to be composted and biodegradation. It can also continue to compost under normal environmental conditions until 90% biodegradability is achieved. The remaining 10% is transformed into harmless biomass through microbiological activity.

Produced primarily in Jalisco, Mexico, tequila is produced from the blue weber agave plant, which takes a minimum of six years to mature. Tequila comes in three main types depending on its aging process and we at Kay and Kate Inc. are geared to provide you with any one or all of these tequila types, from various brands.
To give you an idea about the types of Tequila, we offer:
Blanco tequila is the least aged type of Tequila, generally bottled right after distillation (unaged) or is rested in neutral oak or stainless-steel barrels for up-to just two months. Blanco tequila is transparent or clear in colour, have high agave and earthy notes with a warm but smooth finish. This type is typically best and used for cocktails.
Reposado tequila is usually rested for a minimum of two months to under 12 months in American bourbon barrels. This type of tequila reveals a light golden colour, whilst having wood driven vanilla and caramel flavours and is a perfect alternative for the smoky malt whiskey-lover. Our Reposado tequila is made in the lowlands and known for a highly smoky character that to us would imply a Mescal like (or even Islay scotch-like) flavour.
Rested for 18 months in American Bourbon barrels this is the closest you get to Islay in Jalisco. Herbs, flowers and notes of tar define this smoky tequila. It opens softly with aromas of honey, relatively dry, grows into a fine balanced aroma of smoke. This is a perfect and lighter alternative for those who love smoky single-malt whisky.
Aged for 42 months in American Bourbon barrels, this type of tequila gives a beautiful rich golden colour and is made to satisfy the most refine and demanding palates and serious connoisseurs of strong and bold spirits. Very robust on the palate, with a bold and vibrant complexity, the finish is sweet with spices and exotic woody flavours.
